Airgas Lifts First-Quarter Guidance on Strong Sales Growth

Airgas says it expects to report earnings of 61 cts-63 cts/share in its fiscal first quarter ending June 30, approximately 17% above its previous guidance of 52 cts-54 cts/share. “The increased estimate is primarily driven by stronger than expected same-store sales, which are running at 9% through May, exceeding the pace we saw in the fourth quarter and in early April,” says chairman and CEO Peter McCausland.
