Calgon Carbon Reports Income Decline

Calgon Carbon reported $6 million in income for the first quarter of 2009, a decrease from $10.4 million in the year-ago period. Income totaled 11 cts/share, compared to 20 cts/share in the first quarter of 2008. However, 2008’s first quarter earnings included $5.7 million in proceeds from the settlement of a lawsuit. Sales for the first quarter of 2009 were $90.6 million, up slightly from $90.3 million in the year-ago period.
