Services :: Engineering & Construction Wacker Joint Venture Starts Solar Wafer Plant Construction in Germany9:35 AM MDT | October 29, 2007 | Kerri Walsh Wacker Chemie says it has begun construction of a €50-million ($72 million) silicon solar wafer plant at Jena, Germany through its joint venture with Schott (Mainz, Germany). The companies will complete stage one of their joint wafer plant by April 2008, Wacker says. Production capacity is estimated to reach about 100 megawatts/year by the end of 2008, Wacker says. Schott and Wacker announced in August their plans to invest a combined total of €370 million in joint ventures at Jena and Alzenau, Germany for solar wafer...
