Vale progresses potash project in Canada, awards contract to WorleyParsons

Vale (Rio de Janeiro) is progressing with plans to develop the Kronau potash mine in Canada. The company has awarded an engineering services contract to WorleyParsons for the project, Vale’s first potash project in Canada. The Kronau project comprises a solution potash mine and is located near the hamlet of Kronau, SK, some 30 kilometers southeast of Regina, SK. It is expected to produce about 3–4 million m.t./year of potash for more than 40 years. Canada is the largest producer of potash and has the largest reserves of the mineral.  ...
