Technip and BP extend PTA plant alliance

Technip announced today that it has extended its long-standing agreement with BP in the field of engineering services for purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plants based on BP’s technology. Technip, as part of the agreement will now also become the exclusive provider of the inside battery limits front-end engineering design (FEED) services to BP for third-party licensing.    This announcement follows BP’s decision last year to make its leading proprietary PTA technology available for licensing to third parties.
