Solutia to Expand Chinese PVB Plant

Solutia will add a second manufacturing line to its polyvinyl butyral (PTB) plant in Suzhou, China, the company announced today. The plant produces the company's Saflex brand PVB laminated glass interlayer for the automotive market. The company cited rising demand for the product, particularly in China, as a reason for the expansion, which is slated to come online by the end of 2011.
