KBR to review operations after first-quarter loss

Engineering and construction firm KBR today announced a net loss and lower revenues year-on-year in the first quarter. It reports a net loss of $43 million, down from a net income of $88 million in the year-earlier period, while revenue was down 11% to $1.6 billion. Gross profit shrank from $156 million to $39 million.
