Fluor Awarded Contract for Rohm and Haas's Saudi Acrylic Acid JV

Rohm and Haas (R&H) says that Fluor has been named project management consultant for R&H’s previously announced Saudi Acrylic Monomer Co. joint venture with Tasnee and Sahara Olefins Co. (TSOC). Fluor has also been awarded the process design package for the plant to be built at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and work is underway, R&H says. R&H and TSOC announced last April their plans to form the jv, which will produce 250,000 m.t./year of acrylic acid and esters beginning in 2011.
