Dow Polyurethanes says it will proceed with a previously announced expansion of polyols capacity at Terneuzen, The Netherlands (CW, April 4, p. 15). The company has awarded an engineering contract to Jacobs Engineering for the 180,000-m.t./year polyols expansion. Dow declined to say what its total capacity will be when the expansion is completed next year. The plant will source propylene oxide (PO) feedstock from a 300,000-m.t./year plant being built by Dow at Antwerp in a joint venture with BASF. The plant will use novel hydrogen...
