(Mengzhou, China) has announced plans to build an ethanol-based petchem complex at Mengzhou City, Henan Province, China. The complex will use Petron Scientech's (Princeton, NJ) bioethylene technology based on bioethanol feedstock and Shell Global Solutions' process to produce ethylene oxide (EO) and ethylene glycol (EG). The complex will be designed to produce 87,500 m.t./year EO equivalent, including 80,000 m.t./year of fiber-grade EG. Chemtex International (Wilmington, NC) will provide project management...
