Borouge Brings Online Second Petrochemical Complex

Borouge has begun commissioning its Borouge 2 petrochemical complex at Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, senior sources at Borouge tell CW. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc) has begun supplying ethane to the 1.5 million m.t./year ethylene plant, which will, in turn be supplied to the 540,000 m.t./year Borstar process polyethylene unit, due to start production in early July. The next unit in the sequence of commissioning will be the olefins conversion unit.
