Azerbaijan's $15-Billion Oil, Gas, and Petchems Project Progresses to Detailed Engineering

The State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan (Socar; Baku) expects to begin work on a previously announced gas processing and petrochemical complex in the Garadag district of Baku in 2013, according to local reports quoting Socar’s president Rovnag Abdullayev. The complex is expected to cost $13 billion-$15 billion and, if all work goes to plan, should be completed in 2018-2020, Abdullayev says.
