Services :: Engineering & Construction Axens Provides Aromatics Technology to Saudi Arabia12:37 PM MDT | June 16, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Axens says it has been awarded a design package for a previously announced 400,000-bbl/day, full-conversion refinery and an aromatics complex at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia being built by a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Total. It is scheduled to start up in 2012. Axens is designing the complex with its alliance partners, Shaw, IFP, ExxonMobil, and Total. The complex includes a 32,000-bbl/day vacuum gas oil fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) and a ParamaX aromatics facility producing 700,000 m.t./year of para-xylene and 143,000 m.t./year of benzene.
