Aramco Awards Contracts for Saudi Petchem JVs

Saudi Aramco and Total have awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to Samsung Engineering for Aramco and Total’s previously announced para-xylene project at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The p-xylene plant forms part of a planned refinery and petrochemical joint venture. The plant is due to come onstream in 2013. The p-xylene unit will have a capacity of 700,000 m.t./year.
