Services :: Distribution Report: Weekly Railcar Loadings Down From Last Year10:44 AM MDT | July 9, 2009 | Vincent Valk U.S chemical sector railcar loadings for the week ended July 4 totaled 24,933 cars, down 14.6% from the same period last year, according to figures from the Association of American Railroads (AAR). In the same week, North American railcar loadings for chemicals stood at 36,750 cars, down 17.7% from last year. For the first 26 weeks of 2009, chemical loadings totaled 665, 478 in the U.S., a decline of 17.3% from 2008, while North American loadings were at 989,895 cars, a 19.5% drop.
