Railcar Loadings Remain Down for Year

U.S. chemical railcar loadings remained off last week, at 27,338 cars, compared to 31,433 cars during the same week last year, according to the Assocation of American Railroads (AAR). This brings 2009's total to date to 692,816 cars, a 17.2% drop from last year's total of 836,470 cars. Canadian railcar loadings for the week were down by 19.3% from last year, to 12,172 cars.
