Services :: Distribution Railcar Loadings Remain Down for Year9:30 AM MDT | July 17, 2009 | Vincent Valk U.S. chemical railcar loadings remained off last week, at 27,338 cars, compared to 31,433 cars during the same week last year, according to the Assocation of American Railroads (AAR). This brings 2009's total to date to 692,816 cars, a 17.2% drop from last year's total of 836,470 cars. Canadian railcar loadings for the week were down by 19.3% from last year, to 12,172 cars. Loadings in Mexico were up, however, by 48.1%, to 1,197 cars. Loadings were also up from last week's total. Railcar loadings for the whole of North America stood at 40,707 cars last week, a...
