Rail Traffic Rises 20.8%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 20.8% year-on-year last week, to 47,114 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic was up 13.1%, to 30,638 cars. Canadian traffic rose 38.5%, to 14,827 cars, while Mexican traffic increased 38.2%, to 1,649 cars. Traffic was up from the prior week's totals, as well. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 16.5% last week, 387,283 cars. North American chemicals sector traffic is up 17.9% year-to-date, to 717,566...
