Services :: Distribution Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 14.9%10:29 AM MST | December 10, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 14.9% year-on-year last week, to 49,675 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported yesterday. U.S. traffic was up 9.4%, to 32,180 cars. Canadian traffic rose 29.1%, to 16,639 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 8.4% to 856 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 9.6% year-on-year last week, to 393,935 cars.
