Services :: Distribution Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 1.6%11:03 AM MDT | August 10, 2012 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 1.6% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended August 4, to 40,647 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 3.3%, to 29,960 cars. Canadian traffic fell 4.9%, to 9,372 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 14.8%, to 1,315 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week’s totals in U.S. and Canada and increased somewhat in Mexico.
