Services :: Distribution Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Remains Flat10:08 AM MST | March 4, 2011 | Vincent Valk North American chemicals sector rail traffic rose just 0.1% year-on-year last week, to 44,215 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). The relatively flat traffic levels came after a long period of year-on-year increases. U.S. traffic fell 0.3%, to 31,129 cars. Canadian traffic rose 1.9%, to 11,928 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 7.9%, to 1,158 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week's totals, however.
