Services :: Distribution Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 4.8%4:51 PM MDT | March 15, 2012 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 4.8% year-on-year during the week ended March 10, to 41,733 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 1.7%, to 30,193 cars. Canadian traffic fell 12.9%, to 10,261 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 3.1%, to 1,279 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic fell 2.9% during the week ended March 10, to 367,773 cars, AAR says.
