Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 3.4%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 3.4% year-on-year during the week ended November 12, to 39,704 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 2.1%, to 28,803 cars. Canadian traffic was down 8%, to 9,842 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 7.6%, to 1,059 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week’s totals.
