Services :: Distribution Chemical Sector Rail Traffic Falls 3.2%11:57 AM MDT | August 3, 2012 | Vincent Valk Chemical sector rail traffic in North America fell 3.2% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended July 28, to 41,475 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 0.7%, to 30,265 cars. Canadian traffic fell 11.3%, to 9,981 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 11.6%, to 1,229 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic fell 1.3% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended July 28, to 381,243 cars.
