Services :: Distribution Chemical Rail Traffic Rises 15.2%4:08 PM MDT | June 24, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 15.2% year-on-year last week, to 43,476 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 10.7%, to 28,075 cars. Canadian traffic rose 27.7%, to 14,174 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 5.3% to 1,227 cars. Traffic on the continent as a whole rose slightly from the prior week's totals, though U.S. traffic fell. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 11.8% year-on-year last week, to 374,111 cars, AAR says. U.S. traffic was at the highest level since November...
