Brenntag posts lower second-quarter earnings, full-year target below estimates

Brenntag posted lower second-quarter profits, and announced full-year earnings guidance that fell short of analysts' expectations. The company reported a 15% decline in profit after tax for the second quarter of 2013 compared with the corresponding period of 2012, to €69 million, on sales up 2%, to €2.5 billion. Operating Ebitda declined 8% year-on-year (YOY), to €169 million and gross profit increased 3%, to €502 million.
