Brenntag Reports Higher Earnings and Sales

Brenntag reported a 20% increase in profit after tax for the second quarter of 2012 compared with the corresponding period of last year, to €81 million, on sales up 15%, to €2.5 billion. Gross profits rose 10% year-on year, to €487 million and operating Ebitda was also up 10%, to €184 million. The improved results were achieved despite more difficult macroeconomic conditions, and partly because of acquisitions completed in 2011, Brenntag says.
