Braskem seeks buyer for distribution unit quantiQ?

Braskem is considering divesting its distribution unit quantiQ, which it acquired as part of its 2008 acquisition of Ipiranga Petroquímica, executives say. The distribution sector in Latin America is likely to show strong growth in the near- to medium-term, as plans for most grassroots petrochemical plants have been put on hold because of Latin American producers’ growing lack of competitiveness caused by the shale gas raw material boom in US, executives say.
