Chemicals sector rail traffic down 3.4%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America declined 3.4% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 27 April, to 43,315 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 5.9%, to 29,891 cars. Canadian traffic rose 2.3%, to 11,950 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 5.1%, to 1,474 cars. Traffic was down from the prior weeks’ totals, though it rose in the United States and Mexico.   Overall, North American freight rail traffic fell 1.7% YOY during the week ended 27 April, to 372,815 cars, AAR says...
