A healthy global rubber market will help drive demand, due to the majority of carbon black being used as a reinforcement in tires and other vulcanized rubber goods. In tire applications, carbon black demand is forecast to rise 4.2%/year, to 7.1 million m.t., by 2011, Freedonia says.
