PricewaterhouseCoopers Unit Buys BearingPoint's North American Chemicals Practice

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the U.S. (PwC; New York), a PwC Advisory unit, has acquired BearingPoint's North American Commercial Services segment, which includes the consultancy's North American chemicals practice, the companies say. BearingPoint filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February. PwC has added 800 consultants and assumed many of BearingPoint's contracts in chemicals and other commercial and financial services areas, the firm says. The total value of the deal was $44 million.
