M&A: Steady Amid Market Volatility

Recent volatility in the stock market is not impacting the healthy chemicals M&A market, experts say. In the second-quarter of 2010, total chemicals M&A deal value fell nearly 65%, to $14.3 billion, according to figures from PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC; New York). However, the number of announced deals only fell 15%, to 262. The decline in value was driven by a drop in $1 billion-plus mega-deals.
