Demand for Activated Carbon to Reach Almost 2 Million m.t. in 2016

Global demand for activated carbon is forecast to grow by more than 10%/year, to 1.9 million m.t. in 2016, according to a study by the U.S. industry market research firm The Freedonia Group (Cleveland, OH). Activated carbon markets in the U.S. and China will be the fastest growing because of regulatory changes in the U.S., and China's twelfth Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), which seeks to improve water and air quality in the nation, the study says.
