Chemical Week Magazine :: Viewpoint Recovery Fueling M&A Revival12:50 PM MST | February 26, 2010 Greater confidence is recovery should spark more M&A activity this year after a weak 2009. The total equity value of the deals totalled $25.4 billion in 2009, down from $39.7 billion in 2008, according to data from Young & Partners. Two deals—Dow Chemical’s acquisition of Rohm and Haas (R&H) and BASF’s acquisition of Ciba—dominated the figure, however, accounting for two-thirds of deal value in 2009.
