Chemical industry profits are up sharply in 2010, and companies are making the case that recovery can be sustained. AkzoNobel, DSM, Lubrizol and Rhodia each laid out ambitious mid-term earnings and revenue growth targets over the past two weeks. At recent investor conferences Eastman Chemical said it would exceed 2010 estimates, and DuPont said it remains well-positioned to capture global growth and meet its profit targets.
