Sherwin-Williams to acquire Mexican paint maker Comex

Sherwin-Williams (SW) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Consorcio Comex (Comex), a Mexico City–based paints and coatings firm, for $2.34 billion, including debt. The all-cash transaction doubles SW’s Latin American coatings business and increases retail distribution in many markets where current store counts are low, the company says.
