Shell Chemicals Eyes Ethylene and PE Plants in U.S. Northeast

Shell Chemicals is developing plans to build a world-scale ethylene plant integrated with derivative units atop Marcellus Shale natural gas deposits in the U.S. Northeast. The company joins Dow Chemical and Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) in the race to build the next cracker in the U.S., but Shell is the first company to target the Northeast (table).
