Chemical Week Magazine :: Top of the Week Ras Tanura Configuration Changes; Site to be Switched?8:31 AM MDT | March 26, 2010 | Natasha Alperowicz Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical, partners in the previously announced multibillion-dollar Ras Tanura Integrated Project (RTIP) in Saudi Arabia, have changed the configuration of some of the complex’s facilities to save on investment costs, CW has learned. The companies are also looking at a possible shift of location away from Ras Tanura, possibly to Al Jubail or Ras Al Zaur where infrastructure is in place. The moves could save the partners $3 billion-$5 billion in investment costs, sources say. The scheme as originally planned would have required a $20-billion...
