QP, ExxonMobil Sign Deal for Qatar Petchems Project

Qatar Petroleum (QP; Doha) and ExxonMobil Chemical have signed an agreement to advance their plans to build a world-scale petrochemicals complex at Ras Laffan, Qatar. The complex will include a gas cracker with capacity for 1.6 million m.t./year of ethylene; two 650,000-m.t./year, gas-phase polyethylene (PE) plants; and a 700,000-m.t./year ethylene glycol plant.
