Pemex Supply Deal Marks Major Advance for Mexico Cracker

Partners in the ethylene and derivatives complex planned for Mexico’s Gulf Coast have signed an agreement with Pemex for supply of 66,000 bbls/day ethane beginning in 2015, a vital step toward completion of the long- planned 1 million m.t./year complex at Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz state. Ramos: Project conforms with Braskem’s regional goals. Uriegas: Contract details are pending, but gas price is firm. Braskem (São Paulo) and Grupo Idesa (Mexico City) plan to build three polyethylene (PE) units adjacent to the 1 million m.t./year complex...
