Chemical Week Magazine :: Top of the Week P&G, Unilever Fined for Powder detergent Price Fixing10:47 AM MDT | April 15, 2011 | —KERRI WALSH The European Commission has fined Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Unilever a combined total of €315.2 million ($457.5 million) for conspiring to fix prices of household powder laundry detergents in eight European countries. Henkel was also a part of the price-fixing scheme, but it has not been fined because it revealed the cartel to the commission. P&G was fined €211.2 million and Unilever €104 million. The fines include a 10% reduction for cooperating with the commission, which enabled a swift conclusion of the investigation, says JoaquÃn Almunia...
