Many Plants Remain Offstream in Japan Following Earthquake

Chemical production at sites across eastern Japan remains severely disrupted following the powerful earthquake and tsunami that struck the northeast of the country on March 11. Producers are trying to restart operations where possible and certain plants are resuming operations gradually, despite widespread power cuts. Other plants, including some key manufacturing complexes, will be offline for a longer period.
