Four naphtha crackers were offstream at CW press time: Mitsubishi Chemical’s two crackers at Kashima, Maruzen Petrochemical’s cracker at Chiba, and JX Nippon Oil & Energy’s cracker at Kawasaki. They have combined capacity for about 1.8 million m.t./year of ethylene, about 23% of Japan’s total.
