ECHA Agrees to Publish Names of Companies Producing Toxic Chemicals in Europe

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has agreed to publish the names of companies producing chemicals classified under the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program as substances of very high concern (SVHC). The decision is in response to a lawsuit filed by two environmental groups, which say that ECHA’s nondisclosure policy was in violation of European Union (EU) laws.
