Chemical Week Magazine :: Top of the Week Dow Plans Massive U.S. Ethylene, Propylene Boost10:36 AM MDT | May 2, 2011 | —Vincent Valk Dow Chemical plans to build world-scale ethylene and propylene plants on the U.S. Gulf Coast as part of plans to take advantage of cheaper U.S. feedstocks available from increasing supplies of U.S. shale gas in the Marcellus and Eagle Ford shale regions. By 2018, propylene capacity would be raised by 2 billion lbs/year and ethylene capacity by 5.1 billion lbs/year, Dow says.
