Chemical Week Magazine :: Top of the Week Demand Stabilizing, but Recovery Will Be Rocky1:22 AM MDT | September 21, 2009 | Vincent Valk and Robert Westervelt Producers are confident that the worst is now behind for the chemical sector but warn that recovery may be slow. “Business conditions are stabilizing,” Dow Chemical chairman and CEO Andrew Liveris said last week at the Credit Suisse chemical conference in New York. “We believe that strong growth in Asia/Pacific, especially China, is going to be an engine” driving recovery, he says.
