Cookson to demerge performance materials division

Shareholders of Cookson Group (London) have approved the company’s plans to separate its performance materials division from its engineered ceramics and precious metals processing divisions. The performance materials division will be demerged to create a dedicated specialty chemicals company named Alent, which will be listed on the London stock exchange.
