Chemical Week Magazine :: Top of the Week Bayer Appoints First CEO from Outside Company12:19 PM MDT | September 18, 2009 | NATASHA ALPEROWICZ The Bayer supervisory board has appointed Dutch-born Marijn Dekkers to succeed Werner Wenning as the company’s CEO on October 1, 2010. Dekkers is the first CEO to be appointed by Bayer from outside the company. Wenning, Bayer CEO since 2002, will meanwhile extend his contract by eight months until September 30, 2010. Dekkers, currently president and CEO of laboratory equipment manufacturer Thermo Fisher Scientific (Waltham, MA), will join the Bayer management board on January 1, 2010.
