BASF Says It Will Beat Estimates

BASF reported preliminary third-quarter Ebit before special items down 20%, to €1.25 billion ($1.86 billion), on sales down 19%, to €12.8 billion. BASF says it will announce its full-third quarter results on October 29. The earnings results beat analysts’ estimates of €914 million third-quarter preliminary Ebit before special items as reported by Vara Research (Frankfurt). Ebit including special items is estimated to be €754 million, according to Vara. The integration of Ciba Specialty Chemicals is proceeding faster than BASF expected...
