BASF Halts Development of GM Crops in Europe

Marcinowski: Lack of acceptance. BASF plans to concentrate its plant biotechnology activities on the main markets in North and South America, and it will pull out of genetically modified (GM) plant development in Europe. The company says it will adjust the portfolio and sites of its BASF Plant Science subsidiary to reflect this change.
