Chemical Week Magazine :: Top of the Week BASF Appoints Climate Protection Officer1:58 PM MST | February 25, 2008 | Alex Scott BASF has named Ulrich von Deessen its inaugural Climate Protection Officer (CPO), making BASF the first major industrial firm to have established the position. Von Deessen is due to take up his post on May 1. He will also become the head of the global Competence Center Environment, Health and Safety, succeeding Ernst Schwanhold, who will take over other unspecified projects within BASF and is due to retire on December 31.
